These are the fingers that need to be ground off. Note that several other Tecumseh filters will possibly work - P/N 35102 or 35066. These are longer. Adjust mounting hardware to fit. The 35066 appears to have a rubber end that could be useful as a soft sealing surface. I used a piece of all-thread to match original wing nut and two little nuts jammed together. More elegant solutions are possible. All-thread needs to be about an inch longer than the complete assembly to allow for spring and tightening. Judge by trial and error. Better a little long than a little short. We put loctite on all of the mount bolts because they were all loose. We DID NOT put loctite on the bolt that goes through the cushion. It looked easy---you could get to everything. WRONG! The bolt spun in the cushion. We said a few kind words then soaked it down in PB Blaster and took a break. When we came back the PB had done it job.
