I purchased a valve spring gage (Jegs 555-80537) so I can test the old springs, the new springs and the Edelbrock springs. Looks like the Edelbrock heads come with power springs. Good for fast, high lift, cams but not so good for low speed long lived truck motors. I was planning on replacing them anyway because I want to install rotators. But maybe these high power springs are the cause of some of the flat-tappet cam failures we have been reading about.
