The ARP studs give you more consistent tension and leave enough threads exposed so you can bolt down the alternator bracket. Unfortunately they are not long enough to bolt down the A/C bracket. Neither ARP, Summit or Edelbrock was able to help me with this obvious problem. I took the extra time to torque the studs 20ft-lbs at a time. Got them up to 80 ft-lbs and let them sit overnight. Did the final round of tightening to 85 ft-lbs the next day. Very nerve wracking. Feels like you are going to strip the bolts right out of the block!
