Home-made hub spacers from PVC pipe

My \'77 x-Palm Beach came with Eagle lug centered wheels.  I never had any issues with them but I thought it would be nice to be sure they are exactly centered on the hub. 

I could not find hub-spacers of the correct size so they would need to be custom made.  One day I was workng with some 4" PVC sewer pipe and I thought to check its sizing. Turned out the couplers where the exact thickness I needed within a few thousandths. The diameter was a bit small, but I could correct that by cutting across the diameter.

So I cut a ring the thickness of the wheel and cut a slot to allow it to expand.  It fit into the space with a minimum of cussing.  I have hub covers that are held by the wheel nuts so that holds the ring in place.

The ring is only needed to center the wheel on the hub until the wheel nuts are torqued in place, then the wheel nuts hold the wheel from moving. There is no weight on the PVC rings.
