Pushrod attached to latch mechanism.
Here's an easy mod to replace the awkward "pull then push" two handed inside door handle.
The new "turn and push handle comes from a pickup at the mens mall. It is mounted on a panel that replaces the inside handle and attaches to the door release with a length of 1/2" steel bar.
