No more hatch screws. Mine didn\'t work anyway (stripped holddown nuts) and I thought I\'d try something different. This latch assembly is from a early \'70s 280Z. The base for the actual latch is spot welded to the 280Z firewall. The cable is too long, but easily shortened. I drilled a 1/2\" hole in the floor and pushed/forced the handle end of the cable into the hole. Easy to re-arrainge things on the engine compartment back wall to bolt the baseplate down. A little messing around to get the hatch-mounted portion of the latch lined up and mounted .
