My original snake bite ceiling was not in too bad condition, unlike many I have seen. But it did need replacing. I used the old material for a pattern. A couple of tips here, cut the width ( wall to wall) 1/4 inch wider on each side (not 1/2 on one side, that will throw the other holes off) as the new material will fit better. I think the old material had shrunk. I did not find this necessary on the front to back dimensions, only the side to side ones. The holes for the ceiling cabinet bolts should be cut as far to the outside as possible and trimmed after the panel is in place so you can see the new riv nuts. I screwed up on this in the first panel I put in in the back and had to patch the error later. The front ones were OK after I figured out how to do it right. One reason to start in the back!
