Hot Idle Compensator Ford View 2

  Every Manufacturer has had to deal with Hot Fuel and excess Vapour in the float boal and fuel lines.  (Another view of the Ford Hot Idle Compensator) This is just one of the stratigies that Ford used in its 67-69 Mustang and Cougar. (Ford also used Hot Idle compensation Valves in the Carb, or Themal Vacuum switches.) It is in the PVC Hose and will open and lean out the Idle under hot conditions. (During higher throttle openings, the leak is insignificant) This could be a good reversable option to try it's effectiveness in the coach.

Many vehicles had some form of hot idle compensation. During hot conditions far too much fuel is vaporized in the float bowl and being ingested by the engine. The Hot Idle Compensator increased the amount of air flowing under hot conditions. With fuels used today Hot Idle compensation may be needed.
