This looks like a no brainer to me. My choice is to install a trough the bumper hitch or an under the bumper hitch. You can see the black blue ox base plate on the VW and the center hole is 11.5\" high. The bottom of the bumper on the coach is 14\". I took the coach out on the road in travel setting, so the high is like it would be while traveling. You can also see a oblong loop just below the bumper of the VW. Thats the readybrake brake line thats connected to the brake peddle. The instructions say that there should be no more than 2\" difference in height between that and the hitch device. So I\'d say that the through the bumper hitch just isn\'t going to work for a VW. Even though I\'ve got spring expanders in the front VW springs and a larger tire may give me another inch of height it still isn\'t going to work. Looks like my only choice is an under the bumper receiver.
