Trimming the hatch opening. I found two extrusions at my local metal scrapyard. The \"U\" shaped piece was fit over the edge of the hatch/step area. The \"angle\" pieces were riveted to the inside edge of the hatch opening and over the carpet. Hatch carpet overhangs the visible part of the alum angle and will have the edges bound.
