Screw the filter back on to the original engine location, put more oil in the engine (mine had pumped all 6 quarts out on the road) and start the engine. Listen for unusual sounds. Watch the oil pressure for \"normal\" readings. My engine was not damaged, thank goodness. I drove home without replacing the fender liner.
