Here\'s my proposed fix. You need a spacer/shim between the plastic end piece and the inside of the door panel. I used sheet metal that was 1/16\" thick. If you look closely with the 2 together you\'ll see a gap. For the backing plate I used a piece just less than 1/8th inch thick. I drilled out the original screw nut. I\'m replacing the center screw with a #12 screw and moving the original screw to the front hole. I drilled out the front hole to accommodate it. Also cut off the plastic protrusion. Added a backing plate and used locking washer with locking nuts.
