The first batch of ten have the following possible issues depending on how you use it. Also, after installing it, it has been brought to my attention that one of the newer fan shroud mounting methods would have made the manifold installation much easier. The shroud brackets are a real pain in the #@**.
1) For non-fuel injection applications, we may want to machine down the Fuel Injector Bosses since there is a bit of a clearance issue with the throttle linkage bracket and throttle springs.
2) For carburetor installations, check to make sure the bolt holes are deep enough, or bolts short enough for a good fit. We used washers to compensate niceley. The CNC program will be changed to make the holes deeper in the future.
3) At least for the original style distributor, there is not enough clearance on the top of the manifold. The next run will have the surface skimmed to make more room. Existing ones will need a little machining or grinding.
4) The A/C Bracket hole is offset. The boss will be moved in the cast pattern. There may already be 10 more poured, so we may need to make a little bracket to mout to the A/C Bracket. I am not going to connect mine since the A/C Bracket is connected to the block and heads in other places.
5) I'll probably go ahead and have the lower vaccuum port drilled and tapped as well. It may come in handy.
Overall the fit and finish is great and I am very happy with the new manifold. I really do appreciate all the help from the work rally crew!!!
