This is the aluminum window spline on early style windows. It fits into the hollow channel of the window frames. Unfortunately, that hollow channel has weep holes into which water drains. Instead of just draining out the exterior holes, it runs past the splines and into the coach. Apply a lot of sealant to these splines before you reassemble them to stop the leaks. If you don't goop these, your window will still leak no matter what else you fix.
