HVAC Speed Resistor Network (Inside the Heater box)

The blower motor speed resistor network is 2 (or more depending on application) windings of Nichrome wire inside the heater box. They are there because they get very hot. Hot enough to start a fire if they are anywhere else. The air flow in the heating system keeps them cool and out of the way. A shorted or slow runnig blower motor decreases the air flow and increases the current flow through these coils. Significantly increasing the heat which burns the terminals and the connector bodies. A bad blower motor can cause a lot of problems!!!
