This is what I am doing with my fuel tanks. 3/8\" alum tubing with compression fittings. There will be a barb at the other end where the rubber fuel line will connect. Also, my sending units are not apparantly original. The pickup line was at least 1.5 inches off the tank bottom. I bent them downward to allow more usable fuel capacity. I cut off the socks and will use an external in line filter.
