Our old dining table could become a cockpit console.
Until SHE made me replace it and two captain's chairs with a sofa, this was our dining table. The section immediately below the top surface slides out 24" as a dining surface. It would make a nifty console but it's too wide and too difficult to modify the slide mechanism.
