OK the problem is that the starter on the Onan keeps running even after the engine starts. Checked the relay checked the switch all are good to go. Now on to the starter and solenoid. Both were covered with a heavy coat of oil and dirt from a leaking crankshaft seal. The oil even seems to have made its way inside the solenoid. This is the solenoid plunger it is covered in goo and does not move well inside the solenoid.
