This spring loaded contact pad brings the power to the actuator when the door is closed. There is a matching contact pad on the door. You need at least two contact points for the actuator. I used a three contact pad incase I want to add a light or something else later. You can find these on vans with the sliding door. Dakota Digital ( www.dakotadigital.com ) also sells the contact pads.
