GMC Trailer

This is the design concept based on my conversation with a GMC designer familiar with the proposed project for building a trailer. Such a project was never approved so we don’t know how the final engineer would have been done. Note that he suggested two possible method for reinforcing the lower half; either integrate it with a stiff plate or make a separate frame. Stiffeners will be required for the upper half to support the weight of the door in a raised position. He also said extending the floor and adding a piece to the lower gate shouldn’t be a problem. He did mention that something should be done to keep the position of of the opening constant since support members would be lost at the floor level. I’m sure you are aware of that challenge.
