It also attached just below the rear window. Here I replaced the sheet metal screws with SS threaded screws (small Phillips head bolts). Then I removed the cushion in the rear of the interior of the coach and unscrewed the rear plastic panel to expose the holes. That was a little tricky. I added small fender washers and locking nuts to the back side of the screws to reinforce them. Carleton Douglas has added \"When I reinstalled my ladder I made some aluminum backing plates and tapped the holes, used epoxy to attach them on the inside, but I had the interior out. Used sticky tape under the attaching points to seal them, industry standard.\" Like Jim Bounds 2 very experienced GMC\'rs Ken Henderson and Emery Stora have used Wellnuts to install their ladders with. They make good points and have had good experience with them. I\'m just not a wellnut fan. Also Bob Noble has stated "Originally, all we used at the dealership to install the ladders was long
sheet metal screws, they came with the ladder. Some folks had problems with them and later on we used aluminum or wood inside the coach to fasten the ladder screws more securely. It was a bear to do, but it worked satisfactorily. Not sure of the exact details anymore, just know we did it."
