This is a rear mounted flowmaster-70 series muffler. I placed a couple of asbestos *like* shields that I took from between the carb and intake manifold of a early 70\'s Honda Civic, and placed them between the muffler and the floor to limit heat transfer to the floor. Note the sheetmetal heat shield between the muffler and the rear holding tank. I placed it on an angle so that it would funnel air into the muffler for cooling when running down the road.
