With some good advice, I wired in the second speaker in series. It is safe to drive 8 ohm speaker with a 4 ohm amp. If doing this procedure, wire the "-" of one speaker to the "+" of the second. Sound is much better with the second speaker functioning and blocking off the opening. Fun project!
