Here is the new Furnace as it came from the supplier.
Old Suburban Furnace had an exchanger that was leaking Cabon Monoxide. (An exact replacement did not seem to be easily available. ) The Original used a lower plenum and an angled back that fits up against the body.
New furnaces are flat at the rear, and have side take offs only. If I used these take offs I would lose one of the drawers in the cabinet and the couch beside the furnace would not allow for hoses. It needed to be a lower plenum - floor duct option..
The problem with a flat furnace up against the curved wall is the exhaust and intake pipes. The wall is also used to seal the cold air return for the furnace.
The furnace came with block off plates for the side take offs, and there is a knock out in the bottom for the under floor duct option. I ordered the bottom plenum - floor duct adaptor option but was disappointed because it was expensive.
I could have made it myself easily had I know what it looked like.
