After I smoothed the edges, I also wheeled the center a bit to put a bit of a crown in it. Flat panels tend to oil can and you see very few truly flat panels on anything.
After the wheeling was done, the bowl was a bit less deep than before because the wheel stretched some of the shrinking out and flattened the edges.
