Install the distributor and set the timing. Get the timing set properly before installing the plugs. Short all posts to ground and hook the timing light around the wire grounding the number one post. Never crank or start the HEI ignition system without plugs hooked up or a short to ground. Damage to the coil, rotor or module can result.
