Instead of tapping into the front of the trunk wires I chose to tap into the wiring loom behind the dash. There are several grounding points where a 1/4\" spade connector can clip onto. One is to the right of the speedometer and there is one on the speedometer. There is a 4 wire connector block for the right turn signals (Black/green connect green trailer wire) and a 4 wire connector for the left turn signals (Black/white connect yellow trailer wire). Also the running lights is the left side of the fuse box (light gray wire connects to brown trailer wire). Gene Fisher has also added a photo of a very nice harness you can make up to do this job with. He has it setup so that all you have to do is remove the wire from the block and then plug in your new wire and take the wire you removed and plug it into the harness. Take a look at it at http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=20397&ppuser=7 The nice thing about Genes harness is that when you remove it you simply remove the harness wire and plug back in the original wire. You now have the VWs wiring system back to original condition. Now one thing your going to have to remember is not to turn the lights on in the VW when it is connected to the coaches electrical system. I did not install any diodes. If you think you can't remember not to do that then go ahead and install diodes in your wiring harness between the coach and the VW.
