The first thing you have to do to drop the tank is remove the floor flange. You have to unscrew it off the pipe that comes up from the tank. To unscrew it from the pipe you must remove the screws holding it to the floor. In my case the screws were a mass of rust---heads were gone. Victor had to drill each one out. If you are going to replace these you might consider brass or Stainless screws.
