One of the things that happens SOMETIMES when you remove the diverter is the inside Oring stays in the bore. The only problem is you can't get it back together with it in there. A screwdriver lifts it right out and you can put it back on the assembly and reassemble. I did about 100 cycles today and it works flawlessly. Not even a drip out of the faucet when the diverter is out.
