3" angle iron base mounted with spare tire mount bolts
I cut a piece of 3" angle iron and bolted it behind the spare tire mount. 8 grade 8 bolts provide a generous safety margin for towing a 4000# load. Vertical reinforcement was added because I don't tow heavy trailers.
