Stainless Chain Quick Link

Using stainless quick links to anchor the other end of the chain and turnbuckle onto the aluminum bracket. The barrel of the quick link does not need to be tight. However, if fasteners are tight then it forces thieves to have tools. Keep in mind that the way the bumper, spare tire carrier and trailer hitch are mounted to each other, there is a certain amount of flex or spring. The spare tire carrier is as long as the bike carrier vertical member. That movement needs to be accommodated for and that is why I chose to use a chain and tensioner strategy. The flex and spring in all members can be adjusted using the turnbuckles.
